Ennis Business College is poised for the beginning of a very exciting academic year. Established in 1990 the college has always been a forerunner for education in Clare. It has expanded to match the needs of students and employers and 2007 will be no different.
The college has recently moved to “state of the art” premises at Westgate Business Park. The building here boasts of 2 fully equipped computer labs and 5 lecture rooms. Parking is also available free of charge.
To mark the launch of our new premises and our day and evening Autumn programme the college is now offering a scholarship for a day and an evening course. Full details can be obtained from Clare at the college office. This is a way of saying “thank you” to the people of Clare for their support over the years.
The college has branched out into the post-primary sector by opening a new Grinds School and Study Centre. The study centre will operate on Friday nights, Saturday and Sunday. Grinds will be available in the following subjects (pass and honours level) and will be delivered by highly qualified experienced post-primary teachers.

The college is very proud to have recently become accredited by FETAC and the day courses offered reflect this pride. All day courses offered are now FETAC approved to keep in line with the popular demand for progression routes to education. The full-time day courses on offer are:
Certificate in Legal Studies
Certificate for Legal Secretaries
Certificate in Administration (Auctioneering and Estate Agency Administration)

The above courses are all offered with computer studies and work experience.
The current emphasis is now on a progression route in education. With this in mind the college has now been approved to offer an Associate Degree in H.R. and an Associate Degree in Business by the ICM. Students can commence their education (in the evening) at certificate level and progress to degree level right on their own doorstep at the same venue – The Ennis Business College.
I.T. plays a big part on the courses offered at the college and this year we are offering the
The Joint Examining Board (JEB) Diploma. This is a teaching qualification for people who wish to teach I.T. This course will run at night or on Saturdays. Running courses at weekends is another added dimension to the college and this has been introduced due to demand from the public. Saturday courses gives students more flexibility and utilises time available to them for study. This is a newly acquired qualification by the college and already a good deal of interest has been shown in it.
While the college is well known for its success rate with computer and business related courses this year it is offering hobby courses. These range from wine appreciation, Polish for beginners, English for non-nationals, creative writing, introduction to video shooting/ editing, digital photography, career management.
